Uganda is found in the East of Africa and it’s surrounded by great countries like Kenya and Tanzania. Sir Winston Church Hill once named this place ‘the pearl of East Africa’; Uganda is just that. Its beauty ranges from the great landscapes ranging from snowcapped peaks, tropical rain forests as well as the arid deserts and broad savannas. Standing at the west of this country you will observe the Ruwenzori and Virunga mountain ranges that pose a very scenic backdrop.

Uganda on the other side that borders Kenya, you will get to observe Mt. Elgon, Africa oldest volcanic mountain but it has now become extinct. To the south of the country is Lake Victoria, the second largest lake in the world and the controversial source of River Nile, the largest river in Africa, which meanders all the way up to Egypt. Lake Victoria offers excellent boat rides and it’s a great outing for fishing. However one must be careful not to fish on one another country’s territorial waters without permission lest the local police catch up with you.

Uganda as country embraces culture and is what one would describe as the melting point of culture in Africa. She has very many different cultures and traditions from ancient kingdoms, African dances and music that differ among the country’s 52 tribes, historical sites and tribal customs that continue to be practiced as they were until now. There are different places to tour like the Kasubi Tombs, Uganda Martyrs Shrine, Uganda Museum and you can also get to learn about the kingdoms. The most famous are Buganda, Banyoro , Busoga and others.
